Au Poil — Shaving Gel 150ml

This shaving gel is based on two clearly identified functional active ingredients. Glycerin, high in the INCI list, is a reference humectant: it retains water in the hair shaft and epidermis, facilitates razor glide, and contributes to skin suppleness during shaving. Bisabolol, in a mid-list position, is a well-documented soothing active ingredient (chamomile or enantiopure synthesis) for skin discomfort receptors, without specific authorized EU claims. Biosaccharide gum-1 (fermentation polysaccharide) provides a complementary film-forming and moisturizing effect. Tocopherol (vitamin E) protects the formula from oxidation. Three formulation points to be clearly documented. Firstly, SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE (SLES) is present: it is the standard foaming surfactant for shaving gels, but its tolerance profile is inferior to that of the alkyl polyglucosides in the Cleansing Gel. For skin with a fragile barrier, SLES can accentuate post-shave irritation. This is a real range inconsistency within Au Poil, to be unequivocally documented. Secondly, the preservative is PHENOXYETHANOL + ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN (a classic synthetic system), in contrast to the natural levulinate-anisate system of the Moisturizing Cream. Thirdly, two fragrance allergens are declared (limonene, linalool): to be reported to fragrance-sensitive individuals. PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL is a solubilizer used to disperse the fragrance in the aqueous phase. CI 42090 (Brilliant Blue FCF) provides the slight bluish tint and presents no documented risk in rinse-off use. This gel fits between the Cleansing Gel and the Moisturizing Cream in the Au Poil routine. Its place is functionally consistent, provided the difference in surfactant profile with the Cleansing Gel is documented.
