The AXIS-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum is a well-formulated anti-dark spot serum built around two complementary active ingredients: 5% niacinamide and glutathione. Niacinamide at this concentration is one of the most well-documented active ingredients for skin tone uniformity: it reduces the transfer of melanin from melanocytes to keratinocytes and is well-tolerated by all skin types, including reactive skin. The 5% concentration is the one used in the majority of reference clinical studies on this active ingredient. Glutathione is an antioxidant that acts on tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in melanin synthesis. Its topical use is documented in K-beauty literature, although clinical data on the finished product remains limited. Plant-derived squalane strengthens the lipid film without being comedogenic. The combination of seabuckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides), acerola (Malpighia glabra), and calendula provides consistent complementary antioxidant support. The formula is free of retinol and strong acids and does not contain added synthetic fragrance; however, it does contain rosemary essential oil (Rosmarinus officinalis leaf oil), an aromatic ingredient that can be sensitizing for very reactive skin.
