Beta-Arbutine — inhibition tyrosinase progressive

The AN Serum is the least concentrated depigmenting serum in the Cos De Baha selection at ParaDermia — and this is intentional: it is the recommended entry point for skin wishing to start a brightening routine without exposing itself to high concentrations of depigmenting active ingredients. Beta-arbutin (confirmed on the packaging: "Beta Arbutin") inhibits tyrosinase by gradually releasing hydroquinone through enzymatic hydrolysis in vivo (cutaneous β-glucosidase). This controlled release offers a superior safety profile compared to free hydroquinone, with no risk of ochronosis at the cosmetic concentrations used. In position 3 in the INCI, beta-arbutin is present at a functional concentration. Niacinamide (position 4) adds the mechanism of blocking melanosome transfer to keratinocytes. Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate (licorice extract) completes the formula with its anti-inflammatory and soothing action — relevant for skin prone to reactive redness. No acid irritation, no fragrance — excellent tolerance profile. Critical point for pregnancy and breastfeeding: despite the absence of a formally enforceable contraindication at the cosmetic regulatory level for beta-arbutin, its status as a hydroquinone precursor (Category C in pregnancy) justifies a standard precaution — not recommended during this period; azelaic acid (A5 Serum) is the suitable dermocosmetic depigmenting alternative. For established or resistant spots outside of pregnancy, TN (TXA 5%) will be more appropriate after 8 to 12 weeks of AN treatment without sufficient results.
