Mustela — Gentle Cleansing Gel with Organic Avocado

Mustela's Organic Avocado Gentle Cleansing Gel for babies is a body and hair cleansing gel for infants, formulated for daily use during bath time. Its cleansing base combines three surfactants: COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE (a mild amphoteric), COCO-GLUCOSIDE (a mild non-ionic surfactant derived from coconut + glucose), and SODIUM MYRETH SULFATE. This last point requires clarification: SODIUM MYRETH SULFATE is an ethoxylated sulfate (myristyl derivative + ethylene oxide). It is significantly milder than SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) or SLES (sodium laureth sulfate), but technically remains a sulfate. This formula cannot be presented as "sulfate-free." For infants with very dry or reactive skin, or those with highly reactive skin, even milder alternatives (solely coco-glucoside or betaine) may be recommended. The avocado extract (Persea gratissima) comes from organic and responsible supply chains, according to Mustela. It helps strengthen the skin barrier and protect the skin's lipid capital. PANTHENOL (provitamin B5) is a well-documented soothing and conditioning active ingredient in pediatrics. GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE is an emollient with natural co-preservative properties. POTASSIUM SORBATE is a naturally derived preservative. PARFUM is present in 10th position — moderate concentration. This should be noted for parents of children with very dry or reactive skin or a history of fragrance allergies.
