nuFocus is a well-formulated cognitive supplement that works through several mechanisms: Mémophénol™ (grape and blueberry polyphenols, one of the few patented complexes backed by research on cognitive function), citicoline (a precursor to phosphatidylcholine, a component of neuronal membranes), and two traditional cognitive herbs, ginkgo and ginseng. I will stick to the facts: none of these four active ingredients has an authorized European health claim. The recognized benefits of the formula are based on vitamins B6, B9, and B12 (psychological function, nervous system, reduction of fatigue) — which is already relevant during periods of mental strain. Two important precautions. Ginkgo and, to a lesser extent, ginseng affect blood flow: this product is not recommended for people taking anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication, or before surgery. Ginseng is also not recommended for people with high blood pressure. For adults only; not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Best taken in the morning or at midday (energizing effect).
