Folate sous forme active (L-méthylfolate)

nuMum utilise le L-méthylfolate (600 µg), forme directement assimilable de la B9, plutôt que l'acide folique synthétique — un avantage notamment en cas de polymorphisme MTHFR. Le folate contribue à la croissance des tissus maternels pendant la grossesse (allégation EU).

Iode et choline : les nutriments souvent oubliés

L'iode (200 µg) est déterminant pour le développement neurologique du fœtus et la thyroïde maternelle ; la choline (citicoline 480 mg) comble un apport fréquemment insuffisant. Deux points forts de cette formule.

Sans fer : un choix pertinent

Le fer n'est inclus volontairement pas : il ne se supplémente que sur bilan (ferritine) et gêne l'absorption d'autres minéraux. En cas de carence avérée, il se prend séparément.

nuMum is one of the most advanced prenatal formulas on the mass market. Three formulation choices are worth highlighting. First, folate: it is provided as L-methylfolate (600 µg), the directly active form, rather than synthetic folic acid — an asset for women with a MTHFR polymorphism (common) who metabolize folic acid poorly. Folate has a direct EU claim: it contributes to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy. Next, iodine (200 µg): an often-overlooked nutrient despite being crucial for fetal neurological development and maternal thyroid function — its presence at a physiological dose is a real strength. Vitamin D3 is plant-based (vegan-friendly), B12 is in the form of methylcobalamin, and choline (citicoline 480 mg) supports an often insufficient intake during pregnancy. The choice NOT to include iron is relevant: iron should only be supplemented based on assessment (ferritin) because excess iron is deleterious and hinders the absorption of other minerals; it should be taken separately if necessary. Precautions: the presence of vitamin K2 (MK7) requires medical advice in case of anticoagulant treatment. As with any supplementation during pregnancy, the advice of the doctor or midwife managing the pregnancy is required before starting.

Synergies recommandées

Supplement with an omega-3 DHA intake (important in the 3rd trimester) and, only after a ferritin level check, an iron supplement taken separately. Consistent with the gentle topical care of the SAFE Routine.
