The dry touch is no coincidence: decyl cocoate, dicaprylyl carbonate, coco-caprylate, and plant-derived alkanes (undecane, tridecane) are light emollients that thin the texture and accelerate penetration. This is what makes daily use realistic. Now, for the caveats. The fragrance, derived from essential oils including patchouli, contains seven compounds classified as contact allergens: linalool, limonene, camphor, pinene, beta-caryophyllene, terpineol, linalyl acetate. For those with a fragrance allergy, a preliminary patch test on a small area is mandatory. The presence of essential oils also warrants professional advice before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding—a customary precaution, not a formally documented contraindication. Finally, an oil does not replace a moisturizer: it retains water, it does not provide it. For very dehydrated skin, apply it to damp skin or over a lotion.
