Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun is a sunscreen that has successfully resolved the K-beauty SPF paradox: rigorous protection (SPF50+ PA++++ with 4 filters) in a light, glowy, non-greasy texture, suitable for oily skin and under-makeup routines. The 4 chemical filters cover a broad UVA+UVB spectrum. Tinosorb M (MBBT) in nano form is a third-generation UVA+UVB filter, not available in US formulations (EU only), with an excellent photostability profile. The rice extract (~30% according to the manufacturer) and 6 multi-grain ferments (Monascus/Rice, Lactobacillus/Rice, Saccharomyces/Rice, Lactobacillus/Pumpkin, Bacillus/Soybean, Aspergillus) constitute a significant active skincare component. Niacinamide regulates sebum. Adenosine completes the formula. Two points of caution: (1) Chemical filters → conditional for pregnancy as a precaution; no filter is strictly contraindicated, but human data is limited. (2) Tinosorb M in NANO form → declared (NANO) in the INCI in accordance with EU Reg. 1223/2009 Art.19 — the brand complies. (3) Not reef safe — to be communicated to environmentally sensitive individuals.
