Cos De Baha's P Serum is formulated around two families of patented peptides with complementary mechanisms. Matrixyl 3000® (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 + Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, CRODA) is a signaling active ingredient documented to stimulate type I, III, and IV collagen synthesis by fibroblasts. The landmark study by Lintner and Peschard (Int J Cosm Sci 2000) on Palmitoyl Pentapeptide documented its effect on collagen synthesis, and CRODA's data on Matrixyl 3000® builds on this legacy. Argireline® (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Lubrizol) is a neuromuscular signaling peptide — it gradually reduces the depth of dynamic expressions by partially modulating superficial muscle contractions (a mechanism distinct from botulinum toxins, and much milder). These two peptides are listed in positions 7 and 8-9 in the INCI, respectively, at functional use concentrations. Beta-glucan (Beta-1,3-Glucan) promotes skin elasticity. Adenosine is documented as a smoothing active due to its action on fibroblasts and the cAMP pathway. A note of caution: Rosa damascena and Lavandula angustifolia are present at the end of the list — fragrant botanical extracts likely in low concentrations but which may sensitize skin reactive to odorous components.
