Epil'O — Little Italy Limoncello Hair Removal Wax 400g

This wax is based on PENTAERYTHRITYL ROSINATES—an ester of pentaerythritol and rosin—which the manufacturer presents as being derived from recycled paper and identifies by the trade name "Recycled Paper Resin (Global Innovation)". Chemically, it is indeed a classic rosin derivative; the claimed innovation lies in the origin of the raw material (recycled paper stream) and not in the chemistry of the ester. This eco-responsible positioning is coherent and entirely defensible. The formula is supplemented by ethylene/VA copolymer and paraffin for viscosity and flexibility upon removal, hydrogenated microcrystalline wax for thermal stability, and castor oil (Ricinus communis seed oil) which forms a softening film during application. The DI-T-BUTYL HYDROXYPHENYLAMINO BISOCTYLTHIOTRIAZINE present in the composition is a UV absorber used as a stabilizer for the formula (protection of pigments and fragrance during storage)—it does not act as a sun filter for the client's skin. An important difference from classic oriental waxes: this is an ultra-low-temperature strip-free wax. It melts at a gentler temperature (~38-40°C compared to 50-65°C for hot oriental wax) and is removed with a quick, dry motion, parallel to the skin, without the need for cotton strips. The risk of thermal burn is therefore significantly reduced—though not eliminated. A test on the inside of the wrist is essential before each application. Five mandatory declarable fragrance allergens are present: BENZYL BENZOATE, CITRAL, VANILLIN, LINALOOL, and LIMONENE. This is more than the average for waxes on the market—the Limoncello fragrance is rich in citrus terpenes naturally present in citrus peel. A 24-hour tolerance test is essential before first use, especially for any client reporting fragrance sensitivity. The yellow dye CI 19140 (tartrazine) can trigger reactions in individuals hypersensitive to azo food dyes—to be noted as a secondary precaution. Common absolute contraindications for any waxing remain valid: varicose veins, phlebitis, damaged or irradiated skin, diabetes with vascular involvement, sun exposure within 24 hours surrounding waxing.
