Oxyprolane — H.A. BT30

The H.A. BT30 is the basic hydration formula in the Oxyprolane range. Its added value compared to a simple HA supplement lies in two points: the double encapsulation of collagen (peptide protection and no fishy aftertaste) and the 18 mg dose of vitamin B3 niacinamide. The 30 mg of hyaluronic acid is at the lower end of the published studies on oral HA supplementation (30-200 mg/day). Its oral mechanism of action remains debated – partial absorption of oligomers in the intestine and stimulation of endogenous synthesis via the microbiota are the proposed mechanisms. At this dose, its role is that of a foundational supplement for skin hydration, not a high-dose primary active ingredient. The 100 mg of hydrolyzed type 1 fish collagen is below the doses used in clinical trials on collagen as a primary active ingredient (generally 2.5-10 g/day). Here, it acts as an amino acid precursor for the dermal matrix. Double encapsulation is a real galenic advantage – collagen peptides are protected from gastric acidity until they reach the intestine, which improves their bioavailability. The 18 mg of vitamin B3 niacinamide (112.5% of NRV) is the surprise of this formula: at this dose, it acts on the inhibition of melanocyte-keratinocyte melanosome transfer, which explains the "slows hyper-pigmentation" claim cited on the manufacturer's page. It also improves the skin barrier and has an antioxidant action. The EU claim "maintenance of normal skin" is authorized for vitamin B3. Allergens: five declared allergens – fish (collagen), crustaceans, mollusks, milk, and soy. A broad allergenic profile that should always be noted. Not suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Course: 2 to 3 months according to the manufacturer – a duration consistent with dermal renewal cycles.
