The P 60 ml Serum is the large format version of the P 30 ml – identical INCI formula, same active ingredients, same architecture. The choice between the two formats depends on the use: 30 ml for testing, 60 ml for a prolonged treatment or a face + neck and décolleté routine. The cost/mL ratio is more advantageous with the 60 ml. The formula is based on two families of patented peptides with complementary mechanisms. Matrixyl 3000® (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 + Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, CRODA) is a signaling active ingredient documented to support the synthesis of type I, III, and IV collagen by fibroblasts – a legacy of the work of Lintner and Peschard (Int J Cosm Sci 2000) on Palmitoyl Pentapeptide. Argireline® (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Lubrizol) is a neuromuscular signaling peptide that partially modulates superficial muscle contractions (a mechanism distinct from botulinum toxins, much gentler). These two peptides are at functional use concentrations. Beta-glucan promotes skin elasticity. Adenosine is documented as a smoothing active ingredient via the cAMP pathway in fibroblasts. Point of caution: Rosa damascena and Lavandula angustifolia are present at the end of the list – fragrant botanical extracts at probably low concentrations but which may sensitize skin that reacts to fragrant components. Prior skin patch test recommended.
